MIGA is an opportunity for security operatives to serve the nation through sports. Many Nigerian Policemen and Policewomen play squash, including high-ranked officers. A notable name is Fatai Owoseni, former Lagos State Commissioner of Police.

Over 1,500 athletes, 200 officials, 100 volunteers and about 200 security operatives participated in 13 sporting events during the 2018 edition of the Games.

This year’s edition featured the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Prisons Service, Federal Fire Service and Ministry of Interior.
