Engr. Dr. Ibrahim Kolawole Muritala has been elected as a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), an honour bestowed at the society’s 54th NSChE Annual International Conference/AGM from November 13th to 16th, 2024, hosted at the prestigious Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja.
Themed “Value Enhancement in Solid Minerals and Agro-Allied Sectors for Industrial Development”, this year’s conference will bring together chemical engineers, industry leaders, academics, and policymakers to explore innovative solutions for advancing Nigeria’s solid minerals and agro-allied sectors.
The fellowship will be officially conferred during the prestigious dinner night at NSChE’s Abuja conference in November.
This recognition highlights Engr. Muritala’s remarkable contributions to the chemical engineering profession in Nigeria and internationally.
Known for his expertise in the energy process sector and the emerging hydrogen economy, he has made a lasting impact through his leadership, mentorship, and innovative work in renewable energy systems and chemical process design.
Engr. Muritala holds PhD in Process Engineering from the renowned Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, an MSc in Process Engineering and Plant Design from Brandenburg Technical University, Germany, and a BSc in Chemical and Polymer Engineering from Lagos State University (LASU), Nigeria. He is also a visiting professor and adjunct lecturer at several universities in Africa and Europe, where he supervises postgraduate research and teaches courses in chemical process design, renewable energy systems, hydrogen economy, and more.
In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, Dr. Muritala has published extensively in international journals and holds multiple patents in his areas of expertise. He remains actively involved in the engineering community through memberships in professional organisations such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
