Afropop singer, Wizkid has released his new song. ‘Starboy‘ had promised fans he will be releasing a new music on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1st. He has lived to his words with the release of the song titled ‘Fever’.
‘Fever’ is one of the superstar’s two new singles dropped in the early hours of October 1st.
Alongside ‘Master Groove’, both songs are Wizkid’s first official singles in 2018. They are expected to be on his upcoming album “Made In Lagos.“
The song is produced by Blaq Jerzee with additional production by Northboi and has saxophone by Tosin.
This year, Wizkid has done collaboration with Terry, Spotless, Ceeza Milli for ‘Soco’; Skepta for ‘Bad Energy’; Duncan Mighty for ‘Fake Love’; Afro B for ‘Drogba (Joanna)’; Olamide for ‘Kana’; Kiss Daniel for ‘For You’ and L.A.X for ‘Nobody’.
In August, International Fashion Magazine `Vogue’ affirmed him as Africa’s hottest pop-star.
In February, Wizkid signed a deal with sportswear giant, Nike to produce and sell the Starboy jerseys. With the deal, he became the first African artiste to have an official jersey.
When the Nike Starboy Jersey came out on the 10th of September 2018, it sold in record time.
The 28 year old is a recepient of 2 BET Award, two MOBO Awards, seven The Headies Awards, two Channel O Music Video Awards, six Nigeria Entertainment Awards, one Grammy Award, two Ghana Music Awards, two Dynamix All Youth Awards, two City People Entertainment Awards, and a Future Award.
Additionally, he has been nominated four times at the MTV Europe Music Awards as well as four times at the World Music Awards.
He has been repeatedly compared to the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Among international acts he has worked with are Drake, Chris Brown, French Montana, Trey Songz, Tinie Tempah, Wale, Kayla, Dua Lipa and Swizz Beatz.
