Suspected militants loyal to the Biafra Nations League (BnL) have set a Cameroonian oil vessel ablaze, leaving two escorts dead.
TOP MEDIA reports that the incident happened at 4 am on Friday in Idabato subdivision, in Bakassi Peninsula, an area controlled by Cameroon.
Witnesses say the vessel was not on the move when militants opened fire on the escorts and set it ablaze.
They fled before the arrival of BIR backup.
Meanwhile, the leader of BnL, Princewill Richards, has declared a stop to vessels taking oil in the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea, warning that they are endangering their lives.
