The Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) on Monday, September 11, 2023, paid a courtesy visit to the new Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) Managing Director (MD)/CEO, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani.
NIEE is a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
The courtesy visit, TOP MEDIA understands, is geared towards remediating any hazard to the environment in Nigeria using engineering expertise.
The visit was led by Engr. Sesan Odukoya, the National Chairman of the NIEE. He led a delegation of five members to congratulate Engr Tijani; and the Executive Director (ED), Operations, Engr (Mrs) Helen Omolanke Taiwo; on their respective new positions.
In his address, Engr. Odukoya said the NIEE team was present to further convey their best wishes and signify their unmistakable interest in working with the Water Corporation chiefs on the best strategies for improving environmental wellness in the ‘Centre of Excellence’.
In a message from Engr Yusuf Majolagbe, the Chairman of the NIEE, Lagos state chapter, he celebrated the new government appointee.
Majolagbe said:
“Truly, this appointment is one well-deserved. We believe it is the beginning of greater things to come. And it is our heart’s desire that your tenure will be filled with lots of testimonies and record-breaking accomplishments.”
‘Repositioning LWC as number one in Africa’
While appreciating the NIEE executives for the courtesy visit, Engr. Tijani welcomed collaborative efforts between NIEE Lagos and LSWC.
On her part, Engr. Taiwo acknowledged both teams for having a strong commitment to having a sustainable environment.
During the visit, a congratulatory card was presented to Engr Tijani and Engr Taiwo. Also, membership forms were presented to the MD with the hope that all Lagos Water Corporation engineers would join the NIEE — to improve the water sector.
