Lanoire Ltd.’s Alabi Kolawole Refuses N2.19m Payment, Tells Soap Supplier To Seek Legal Action

A Lagos-based businessman, Ayodeji Oladapo Ajayi, is embroiled in a payment dispute with Alabi Kolawole, the owner of Lanoire Ltd., over an outstanding balance of N2,192,000.

Ajayi claims that Kolawole has refused to settle the balance after delivering 3,200kg of African black soap valued at N7,872,000.

According to Ajayi, the agreement was that Kolawole would pay the full amount upon collecting the soap, but after receiving the goods, Kolawole requested an additional two weeks to complete the payment.

Since then, Kolawole has only paid N5,680,000 and has ignored Ajayi’s requests for the remaining amount.

Ajayi told FIJ that despite several attempts to contact Kolawole, including involving a lawyer to mediate, Kolawole has refused to pay and instead suggested that Ajayi take the matter to court.

“He knows I can’t afford the cost of a legal battle, and I feel helpless and cheated,” Ajayi said.

Efforts to reach Kolawole for his side of the story were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages at the time of reporting.
