The resilience, steadfastness and relentless efforts of Mims Comprehensive College (MCC’s) management and staff members towards building their students’ future have yielded another result, with the learning institute winning the Prestige Trybe Secondary Schools Quizathon in Lagos state.
All secondary school students in Lagos state held the competition online in stages till the final stage where MCC emerged winners and the certification and award scheduled subsequently.
Monday, May 27, Children’s Day was set aside to award the winners at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) main auditorium hall.
Jimoh Zainab, a JSS3 student came first in the junior category while Obasanya Amira and Raji Sumayyah also emerged first and second respectively in the senior category.
MIMS principal elated
Hajia Isu-Momodu Fatimah, the school’s principal, expressed her excitement about the outcome of the exercise while receiving the students in her office shortly after the award.
”I am super excited because when you make efforts and are yielding great positive results, the only choice you have is to be happy, excited and grateful to God,” she said.
She commended the management and teachers for giving topmost priority to the success of the school, saying they had duly promoted and elevated the status of the students
”So, there is something peculiar to the students of MIMS Schools. I think God has bestowed on them a high level of intelligence and intellect. I am super excited that God is lifting MIMS to a greater height as far as education is concerned,” she concluded.
Mr. Bello Jamiu, the vice principal (academics), attributed the success to grace and hardwork, saying the school had tried severally. Mr Jamiu described the winners as very hardworking.
MIMS champions thrilled
The winners, Obasanya Amira, Raji Sumayyah, and Jimoh Zainab, expressed their joy over the success, saying their years of diligence had yielded a great result.
They thanked their teachers and principal who had contributed immensely to their successful outing in the competition and promised to make the school and country proud in the near future.
