While delivering his keynote address, the Chairman of the MIMS management board, Prince AbdulMujeeb Ogungbayi bemoaned the increased level of social menace and youthful delinquency like kidnapping, ‘Yahoo Plus’, and raping which he said has made peaceful relationships become a relic. He charged the parents with the need to be conscious and focused on their responsibilities as the children are, in most cases, replicas of their parents in action, reasoning, social and psychological acts.
He said:
“Our students of today are equally growing, educating, and socialising in the same environment where all these evils exist. You need to protect yourself and the children and guide them towards attaining pristine Islam devoid of manipulations.
“These are questions begging for answers from every one of you. Remember, we are all answerable to our Lord, Allah, as a shepherd on these young adults.”
Furthermore, Prince AbdulMujeeb tasked the parents to not only acquire wealth but also to be responsible and role models in character, knowledge, and spiritual guidance to their children.
TOP MEDIA reports that students who distinguished themselves in learning and knowledge acquisition, across departments, in the academic session were recognised and celebrated.
