Many Twitter users on Thursday severely criticised Professor Kingsley Moghalu, a presidential candidate in the 2019 election and aspirant in the 2023 poll.
TOP MEDIA reports that Moghalu made a tweet where he praised Professor Wole Soyinka, and condemned critics of the Nobel laureate as “unlettered and uncultured”.
Soyinka had chastised the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba Ahmed over his infamous Channels TV interview. This did not sit well with most supporters of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the party.
Leaping to the defence of Prof. Soyinka, Moghalu said he views any criticism of Nobel laureate “very dimly, simply because he (Soyinka) is objective”.
Firing back at the erstwhile presidential hopeful, supporters of Obi, through their different Twitter handles, lambasted Moghalu.

Another wrote: “Thankful to God I NEVER fell for this one’s (Moghalu) antics. Man couldn’t call out APC and MC Oluomo maiming voters in Lagos. Gave generic “this is why I left politics” tweets when the crime was ongoing. Only to come and call his offsprings unlettered, cos no be me you dey talk to.”
One commented: “I don’t know how some of the guys relate themselves sha. Can you imagine, I ask again who are you calling unlettered and uncultured people in an age of lazy social media.”
