Teachers’ Day: Vetland Parents Forum Thanks Lagos Government Over Empowerment, Lauds Teachers

The Parents’ Forum of Vetland Junior Grammar School, Ifako-Ijaye, appreciates the Lagos State Government for its continuous support in enhancing the professional development of teachers in state-owned schools.

In a press release signed by the Forum’s Public Relations Officer, Mukaila Tajudeen Akolade, on Saturday, the parents’ body extended its gratitude in celebration of this year’s International Teachers’ Day, held annually on October 5.

The statement acknowledged the government’s efforts to improve the working conditions and welfare of teachers, both personally and professionally.

The Forum commended these initiatives, which they said have had a positive impact on the educational environment in the state.

“We thank the Lagos State Government for its unwavering support of teachers and the various steps taken to improve their working conditions and income. However, we encourage the government to introduce more capacity-building programmes to empower teachers further, ensuring they can continue to deliver high-quality education,” the statement read.

The Parents’ Forum also called on all stakeholders to continue supporting teachers, noting that their role is crucial to the future success of children and society as a whole.

In addition, the Forum lauded the school’s principal, Mrs. Adeola Latunde-Dada, for her exceptional leadership.

According to the statement, under her guidance, Vetland Junior Grammar School has become a beacon of academic excellence and ethical values.

“The school has thrived under the capable leadership of the principal, vice principal, and management team, maintaining its reputation for high standards. Their dedication to the well-being of both students and staff is commendable,” the Forum noted.

“We deeply appreciate the unfaltering commitment of our beloved teachers. The success of our children is built upon your enthusiasm, perseverance, and dedication. You are the foundation upon which their futures are built, and for that, we will always be grateful.”

The forum concluded by congratulating the newly elected executives who will lead the body for the next two years.

The new leaders include Tajudeen Balogun (Chairman), Wale Alimi (Vice Chairman 1), Gboyega Agunbiade (Vice Chairman 2), Femi Agbonyin (General Secretary), and Taibat Adeyemi (Assistant General Secretary), among others.
