Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu has expressed his disappointment with the two-nil loss to the Croatian national team on Saturday evening at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The Eagles scored an own goal and then conceded a penalty, seeing them begin their World Cup campaign on a frustrating note.
Ogu took to his Instagram page on Sunday to assure Nigerians that they are working hard, and that they would do better in their next game against Iceland in Volgograd Arena on the 22nd of June.
“Loose or win, we will still keep learning and working hard. Very disappointing result last night. Hoping for a better result on the 22,” Ogu promises.
The Hapoel Be’er Sheva man did not feature in the match against the Croats, but would be hoping that he would be called upon by Coach Gernot Rohr soon.
‘We will be ready to fight again’ – Moses
Similarly, teammate, Victor Moses bemoaned the team’s misfortune, while guaranteeing that they will “put things right.”
Disappointed with the result last night but we win together and lose together and will dust ourselves down and be ready to fight again. We are working hard to put things right #SuperEagles pic.twitter.com/XozKQERzNu
