“The support was fantastic and my best possible wishes to Sir Alex Ferguson. He gave me a huge lift in my career.”

Quizzed about his immediate past club and 13 time European champions, Real Madrid, CR7 states:

“I don’t want to compare Real Madrid with Juventus,” he says. “They are both unbelievable teams and fantastic clubs. I did my journey In Real Madrid, now it’s my new chapter at Juve, one of the best clubs in the world.

“I’m glad to play here in Manchester, I am a happy man and lucky man.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo does not think Manchester United who have not yet hit top gear this season will be an easy ride.

“It will be a difficult game, they are a good team and will be tough for us. We have our weapons, we are Juve and it will be tough.

“I think we have a chance. If we play good and how the coach wants we have a good chance. We have to respect Manchester United, they are a fantastic team with an experienced coach, but I expect us to win the game.”

On his new home, the 33 year old explains:

“I am so happy to be here at Juventus and I am still adapting to the team and the league and culture.

“It is different but I enjoy a lot, my team mates help me a lot, so I am glad and happy to be here. Everyone is helping.

“We have six points, it does not matter if I play or get sent off. I am glad to be back.”
