One of Nigeria’s top squash players, Busayo Olatunji, has been nominated for the prestigious Future Africa Awards.
Olatunji, 24, who won several individual trophies in 2023, was nominated in the sports category of the award alongside continental stars like Victor Osimhen, Tobi Amusan, Asisat Oshoala, Michelle Alozie, and Ese Brume.
The award, which is in its 17th edition, honours young people between the ages of 18 and 31 for outstanding achievements yearly.
With the theme, ‘Defying Odds, Inspiring Greatness,’ the nominees span 25 categories, totalling 128 individuals, who have undergone three rigorous judging stages.
The organisers, at the unveiling of the nominees on Sunday, said the nominees had distinguished themselves in their various fields.
“The stage is set for Africa’s biggest youth celebration — The Future Awards Africa, a spectacular event created to honour the milestone achievements of youth across the continent.
“This year’s list showcases a list of impressive personalities renowned for excellence and norm-shattering endeavors across various fields,” the organisers added.
