The outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday raised the alarm that the health of its detained Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who is in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), is not improving.
In a statement signed by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, IPOB’s Lead Counsel, obtained by TOP MEDIA, IPOB said following the visit of Kanu’s lawyers to the separatist leader at the DSS Headquarters in Abuja today (Thursday), the health complaints of Kanu are yet to abate.
Ejiofor’s statement reads: “We visited our indefatigable Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, today, being the 2nd day of February 2023, at the DSS detention facility, Abuja, where he is still being held unconstitutionally.
“Today’s visit was basically to brief Onyendu on the status of pending actions in court, and to inform him of our fruitful outing in court yesterday. Onyendu commended our legal team ably led by the foremost Senior Advocate of Nigeria – Mike Ozekhome (SAN)
“Feedback on Onyendu’s present health status is still not encouraging, as there is no evidence of visible improvement so far recorded. Hence, the efforts of the legal team to ensure that Onyendu is speedily allowed access to his medical doctors for a thorough independent medical examination, is intensified.
“Consistent with his usual style, Onyendu thanked you all, millions of his resolute followers and ardent supporters, for your prayers and solidarity so far, while soliciting for your fervent prayers, which is impacting positively.”
