Ahead of Saturday’s election, the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe recently attended a fundraising event for the construction of a permanent site and skills acquisition centre of the Izalatu Bid’ah Wa-Iqamatu Sunnah (JIBWIS), Kaduna State Chapter.
TOP MEDIA reports that at the event held at the Arewa House, the Deputy Governor who is also the running mate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Uba Sani, donated N10 million on behalf of all APC Candidates, “to support JIBWIS to carry on with the noble task of promoting the Islamic faith and its humanitarian works in the state”. Both Balarabe and Uba Sani are Muslims.
Balarabe appreciated JIBWIS and all other ‘relevant’ organizations for their investment to provide education and skills empowerment to the less-privileged.
The fundraising was attended by APC Senatorial Candidate for the Central Senatorial District, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi; Commissioners for Local Government Affairs and Health-Ummah K Ahmed and Dr Amina Baloni.
A former Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, commented on the development, but said it is a “dangerous path our society is threading”.
“A prominent Islamic Cleric in Kaduna revealed in a video that all the Imams of the mosques in the state, including himself have been given N10million each to propagate same faith ticket for the forthcoming election.
“This is the dangerous path our society is threading,” Sani said via his verified Twitter handle on Sunday night.
