The John Hett Sports Foundation (JHSF) is recognising the top performers at its 2023 squash championships with scholarship programmes.
TOP MEDIA reports that the opportunity will include a wide range of support services that enable athletes to successfully train and compete in a performance environment.
What are the benefits?
Scholarship benefits include:
- Use of the Strength and Fitness Gym
- Stipends to cover part of the standout athletes’ living expenses.
- Rehabilitation support
- Sport psychology
Wasiu Bello, a key official of the JHSF, reiterated that the organisation aims to get Nigeria’s top five players to the world map of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) top 50.
He told TOP MEDIA on Sunday, January 28:
“We are honoured to support these athletes, both men and women. We are wholly committed to supporting them as athletes in pursuing their performance ambitions while gaining an exceptional tutorship.
“This support is available to squash athletes who excelled at our maiden senior tournament in 2023.
“Unarguably, players like Gabriel Olufunmilayo and Rofiat Abdul Azeez have the potential to develop and enhance their reputation through international-level sports performance.”
