Breaking: Cameroonian Govt Reinforces Troops In Bakassi To Battle Biafra Separatists

Authorities in Cameroon have deployed masked members of the Rapid d’intervention Battalion (BIR) to Ine Mba in Bakassi Peninsula.

TOP MEDIA reports tha according to eyewitnesses, the troops deployed on Monday evening were heavily armed. They reportedly came in gunboats and rocket launchers to flush out the Black Marine, a militant group loyal to the Biafran agitation.

It would be recalled that some days ago, the Black Marine engaged in a gun battle with the Joint Border Forces of Nigeria and Cameroon.

This came amid warnings by the Biafra Nations League (BnL) that oil firms at the Eastern end of the Gulf of Guinea should shut down.

Henry Edet, the operational commander of the BnL, confirmed that oil firms are currently not operating due to the violence in the region.
