In commemoration of the World Literacy Day 2023, a foremost educational non-governmental organization (NGO), Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), has sustained the noble cause of promoting literacy and education within Lagos state.
TOP MEDIA reports that AEI initiated the book donation drive to promote the right to literacy and education within Alimosho community.
During the event at the premises of Oke-Odo Senior High School, Alimosho, avid readers and auspicious youths were addressed.
AEI‘s representatives stated that the book donation is in line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 which is about quality education.
Prince Adesegun Ogungbayi, Project Coordinator, AEI Agege zone, said:
“We are enthusiastic about supporting the cause of literacy on World Literacy Day.
“Education forms the cornerstone of our society’s advancement, and we firmly believe in providing access to high-quality reading materials that can inspire and educate young persons from all walks of life.
“It is our hope that these books would ignite the curiosity and enthusiasm for learning among the students.”
Furthermore, Prince Ogungbayi applauded the school’s heads and teachers for their commitment and tolerance towards the academic development of their students.
For Sulaiman Abdullah, the Assistant Project Officer, engaging in social work with AEI made him realise the importance of kindness, compassion, and excellence.
Authorities in Oke-Odo Senior High School hailed the NGO for its thoughtfulness.
