Scholars’ Day 2023: 199 Nigerian Students Jostle For Top Academic Honour

199 students have registered to compete in the 2023 edition of the Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI) Scholars’ Day.

TOP MEDIA reports that the competition, for SS1 and SS2 secondary school students, will reward 20 outstanding pupils with N10,000 cash prize each.

According to the organisers, the theme of this year’s edition of the Scholars’ Day is ‘Rekindling the Educational System in Nigeria’.

Apart from a quiz competition which will crown the champion and other top performers, respected academics will share their knowledge with Nigerian youths on Saturday, July 15, in Lagos. Already lined up for the event are Dr. Ibrahim Adedotun, who is the Rector of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH); and Prince Mike Adewoye, Proprietor of Racy and Sturdy Schools, Lagos.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Akinloye Yusuff, the Chairman of the planning/organising committee of the programme, said he and his team have put in tremendous effort to ensure a successful virtual event.

He said:

“Year after year, this programme has served as a platform for recognising and appreciating exceptional scholars. This year’s edition promises to be another remarkable event, and we are committed to achieving that.”
