2023 Men’s World Team Squash Championship: Nigeria Grouped Alongside Japan, Switzerland

Nigeria has been grouped alongside Japan and Switzerland for the 2023 World Squash Federation (WSF) Men’s World Team Squash Championship.

The tournament taking place in Tauranga, New Zealand, from Monday, December 11 to Sunday, December 17, has Nigeria in Group D.

TOP MEDIA reports that the groups and seedings were confirmed earlier this week.

Team Nigeria are one of 24 teams that have been confirmed to participate in the championship. The team members are Babatunde Ajagbe, Onaopemipo Adegoke, Olufunmilayo Gabriel, and Kehinde Samuel.

Nigeria’s opponent, Switzerland, are seeded No.4 in the tournament and will be represented by Robin Gadola, Nicolas Mueller, Dimitri Steinmann, and Yannick Wilhelmi.

Meanwhile, Egypt have been announced as top seeds. The defending champions, who are in Group A alongside Malaysia and Ireland, have named a strong squad of World No.1 Ali Farag, World No.4 Mostafa Asal, World No.7 Mazen Hesham, and World No.12 Youssef Soliman, with Soliman a late addition to the squad following an injury to Karim Abdel Gawad.
