Tolu Ogunlesi, the former special assistant on digital media to President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, June 12, said there is a thin line and close relationship between politics and journalism.
Speaking during the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ’s) Twitter space while discussing Media and Democracy: How has Nigeria fared?, Ogunlesi explained how journalists contributed to national development.
The programme was monitored by TOP MEDIA.
Going down memory lane, Ogunlesi stated that there is a thin line and close relationship between politics and journalism.
Citing examples of late former Nigerian leaders, Nnamdi Azikwe, Herbert Macaulay, and more, he said journalists delved into politics and contributed to national development.
