A prominent supporter of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Aisha Yesufu, on Tuesday criticised world leaders like President Emmanuel Macron of France, Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, and others who congratulated the president-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
TOP MEDIA reports that Yesufu launched the scathing attack while speaking at a World Press Conference at the International Press Club in the United States of America (USA).
She said: “This is a call to the international community and the committee of nations, that the things they do not accept in their own country, they must never accept in another country.
“We have seen some people who came out to congratulate someone who stole the people’s mandate. The people’s mandate must be given to the person the people chose.
“What someone has right now is the INEC’s mandate. And there were some countries that were willing to come out and congratulate such a flawed process. We do not care who it is that is voted for, as long as it is the choice of the people, and it is done under free, fair, credible election.”
